RV TIRE CARRIER FACTS & INFORMATION
(PATENT PENDING)
The RV Tire Carrier has been designed and engineered for almost any vehicle with a standard receiver hitch. It can carry any size tire from 16" to 22 1/2". All components are powder coated steel to resist corrosion. You can also "flat tow" behind it up to 5000 lbs.
A standard tow dolly can also be used for towing behind the carrier. The back end of every model motorhome is different. The end caps on some models are straight up and some are curved.
The receiver hitch on some is flush with the back end and some are recessed under the end cap. The tire carrier is available in different lengths to accommodate any of these RV designs.
If you choose to "flat tow" behind the carrier it is equipped with a receiver to accept your Roadmaster or Blue Ox tow bar or can be used with a tow dolly. Your safety chains connect right to the carrier. |
 |
The complete tire carrier itself weighs a total of 40-50 lbs, depending on the recess.
The base is made of solid 2" steel and weighs about 30 lbs, depending on the length of the stem.
Any commercial tire cover can be used to protect the tire from ultra violet sunrays. Rear radiator motorhomes may require you to remove the cover when traveling. Covers are available from many suppliers.
The RV Tire Carrier is available only from the manufacturer. It will be shipped directly to you by UPS.
We will require you to provide us with specific information like the exact size of your tires (i.e. 295 80R 22.5).
We need to know if the end of the receiver hitch on your RV is flush with the end cap or bumper, or if it is recessed underneath; and if so, how far? See picture to take measurement.

When you travel without a spare tire, you run a tremendous risk. If you have a flat tire, you can be stuck by the side of the road for hours. If that tire is destroyed, it can be 3-4 days to get an exact replacement (you may even have to pay for the new tire to be express-shipped). All tire manufacturers size their tires a little different.
The outside diameter of various tire sizes are different. To be safe and not cause additional damage, you mustuse exact size and brand tires on each axle. You should buy that spare tire, before a problem develops.
Don't leave home without a spare tire. It can be a very expensive, waste of your time if you do.
